For the Specialist Project I had to set my own brief, and decided to see how an arts modelling specialist such as Maya compares with it's technical counterparts such as AutoCAD when creating highly accurate 3d models. I decided to model a Mk1 mini body shell, given my extensive knowledge of the car. As a short project at only 3 weeks long, I modelled one half of the car, and have reflected it for the image renders. I chose not to cut any corners, so I simply kept modelling until the time ran out. The final piece, although incomplete, features near perfect relational dimensions.
